Securency, NPA and the Reserve Bank
The ABC 7.30 Report on 21 August revealed a relevant 2007 document written by a key employee regarding allegations of corrupt conduct by agents of one of the two companies, and including comments on its significance for the RBA. The Reserve Bank immediately issued a statement and The Age newspaper made a response to that RBA statement in its edition of 22 August. The Economics Committee of the House of Representatives is likely to question the RBA about this matter at its hearings on Friday 24 August. Today (23.8.12), former Treasurer, Peter Costello, published his views as to the obligation of the public sector to report credible evidence of wrongdoing.
