The ABC reports the interview with Minister Jason Clare today on the significant corruption found amongst the Customs Service that has provoked the government to appoint a systemic review headed by Justice James Wood. So far the AFP and ACLEI have been coordinating with the NSW Police. This issue will also be included in tonight’s ABC 7.30 Report (20.12.12).
More specific allegations have emerged concerning Walmart activities in Mexico in advance of any DoJ investigation results there and in India, Brazil and China.
The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) has written to the Prime Minister Julia Gillard calling on the government to reveal which Australian aid programs are being cut to fund the redirection of $375 million in aid money for domestic purposes.
