Leave a bequest

By leaving a bequest to Transparency International Australia, you can help lay the foundations for a stronger democracy, for current and future generations.

Every gift, large or small, helps us achieve our vision.

Naturally you’ll want to look after your loved ones first. All we ask is that after remembering your family and friends, you consider leaving a gift in your will to Transparency International Australia.

Gifts left to charities in wills come in all different shapes and sizes and giving a gift in your will is not just for wealthy people – it is for anybody thinking about doing something powerful, special and lasting.

Tackling corruption is an ongoing and challenging task. That’s why we’re asking as many of our supporters as possible to consider including a gift to Transparency International Australia in their will.

What a gift in your will can do

Your legacy will help us tackle the root causes of corruption by ensuring companies act with integrity and politicians put the public’s best interest first, always.

A few words in your will can make a world of difference for your family, our democracy and generations yet to come. 

It doesn’t take long to include Transparency International Australia.

How to include a bequest

Everyone should have a will as it gives you the power to choose how your assets can benefit your loved ones and the world you leave behind.

Making or updating a will is simple – just ask your solicitor to include the type of gift of your choosing. Please make sure that they include our correct legal name (Transparency International Australia), our address and our ABN (23 068 075 525).

As a guide, we have provided the following suggested wording for you to consider when including Transparency International Australia in your will:

“I give free of all duties or taxes… 

[Please insert here the appropriate statement selected from the six options below. Your solicitor can explain the differences between each of these options:] 

  1. the whole of my estate
  2. [insert number] percent of my estate
  3. the residue of my estate
  4. [insert number] percent of the residue of my estate
  5. the sum of $ [insert value of your gift]
  6. [insert number] of my [insert name of shares] shares.

…to Transparency International Australia (ABN 23 068 075 525) of Level 2/696 Bourke St,
Melbourne VIC 3000 for its general purposes. The official receipt of the organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executor.”
